Ground squirrel ventral lateral geniculate receives laminated retinal projections

Abstract

Retinal projections to ground squirrel ventral lateral geniculate (VLG) nucleus were studied with anterograde axonal transport methods. Results indicate that VLG may be divided into 5 laminae: 3 contralateral projection fields are interleaved with 2 ipsilateral projections.
