Abstract
Postoperative atrial fibrillation as a complication of heart surgery is thought to significantly increase length of hospital stay. The magnitude of this impact varies, however, depending on the efficiency of surgical management. One component of this is the process of managing atrial fibrillation. This topic was studied in the context of analyzing the effect of atrial fibrillation on length of stay and thus on cost.
