Abstract
A laboratory study was conducted to evaluate the shear bond strength of a metal orthodontic bracket bonded to enamel with four commercially available orthodontic adhesives. The mean shear bond strengths ranged from 0.95 to 16.59 MPa. A fluoride‐releasing glass ionomer adhesive resulted in significantly lower bond strengths when compared to resin adhesive systems.
