Abstract
The reaction e+e-→e+e-η′(9 58) has been observed by detecting the final state π+π-γ. The two-photon width of the η′ has been measured to be Γ(η′→γγ) = 5.1±0.4±0.7 keV. A search for the ι(1440) has been made in the ρ{variant}0γ final state. An upper limit has been obtained for the product Γ(ι(1440) → γ)gg), B (ι→ρ{variant}0γ) <1.5 keV (95%CL).

N1 - Funding Information: In this reaction we have measured the two photon partial width of the r/' and searched for other resonances in this final state, in particular for the t(1440) which possibly \[6\]h as been observed in the/903 ' final state. The measurement was performed using the TASSO detector at PETRA, at beam energies of 7-18 GeV. The scattered electron and positron in the final state were not detected since they are predominantly emitted at very small angles. The main difficulty in the measurement of this decay mode lies in the detection of a low energy photon ((E. r) ~ 0.2 GeV). Consequently, a careful evaluation of the response of the electromagnetic detector for low energy 1 Present address: CERN, Geneva, Switzerland. 2 Present address: University of California, Santa Cruz, CA, USA. 3 On leave from Institute of Nuclear Physics, Cracow, Poland. 4 On leave from Warsaw University, Poland. s On leave from Weizmann Institute, Rehovot, Israel. 6 Present address: University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, The People's Republic of China. 7 On leave from Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 8 Supported by the Deutsches Bundesministerium for For-schung und Technologie. 9 Supported by the UK Science and Engineering Research Council. l0 Supported by the Minerva Gesellschaft t'fir Forschung mbH. 11 Supported by the US Department of Energy contract DE-AC02-76ER00881.
