Pion interferometry of √SNN=130 GeV Au + Au collision at RHIC

Abstract

Interferometric measurements of two-particle correlation functions in gold-gold collisions were carried out using a solenoid tracker. The source size was found to grow with event multiplicity and decrease with transverse momentum. The possible indication of quark-gluon plasma formation and rehadronization was investigated.
