Abstract

Quality of life is an ethical ideal in nursing. In the case of 72 year old Mrs. W, nurses, physician, and family all voiced this ethical ideal as their treatment goal'. Yet for three months Mrs. W. lay dying in pain on the ICU. What went wrong?.
