Abstract

Propranolol enhanced the anaphylaxis reaction more than the reaction to histamine and mecholyl in inbred strain guinea pigs. These results suggest the presence of beta receptors on mast cells and that there are genetic differences in the reaction to mediators and antigens among these strains of guinea pigs.
